Procedure for Conducting 1 RM (Repetition Maximum)

The one repetition maximum tests (1-RM) is a measure of the maximal weight a subject can lift with one repetition. It is a popular method of measuring isotonic muscle strength.

Objective

To measure maximum strength of various muscle and muscle groups.

Required Resources

To undertake this test you will require:

1. Free weights (barbells, dumbbells).

2. Other gym equipment.

How to conduct the test

It is important to reach the maximum weight without prior fatiguing the muscles.

1. The athlete warms up for 10 minutes

2. After a warm up, choose a weight that is achievable.

3. Then after a rest of at least several minutes, increase the weight and try again.

4. The athletes chooses subsequent weights until they can only repeat one full and correct lift of that weight.

Assessment

1. Measuring 1RM has safety issues, so it is sometimes useful to estimate the 1RM using a calculator based on the number of times (greater than 1) that someone can lift a certain weight.

The data that the app user should enter are:

5. Repetition

6. If you want to determine the intensity just insert the intensity in range 1-100

Astrand Treadmill Test

The objective of the Astrand Treadmill Test (Astrand 1952)[2] is to monitor the development of the athlete's general endurance (VO2 max).

Required Resources

To undertake this test you will require:

1. Treadmill

2. Stopwatch

3. Assistant

How to conduct the test

This test requires the athlete to run as long as possible on a treadmill whose slope increments at timed intervals

1. The athlete warms up for 10 minutes

2. The assistant sets up the treadmill with a speed of 8.05km/hr (5 mph) and an incline of 0%

3. The assistant gives the command “GO”, starts the stopwatch and the athlete commences the test

4. The assistant, after 3 minutes into the test, adjusts the treadmill incline to 2.5% and then every 2 minutes thereafter increases the incline by 2.5%

5. The assistant stops the stopwatch and records the time when the athlete is unable to continue

Assessment

From the total running time an estimate of the athlete's VO2 max can be calculated as follows:

VO2 max = (Time × 1.444) + 14.99

where "Time" is the recorded test time expressed in minutes and fractions of a minute.

Example

The athlete stopped the test after 13 minutes 25 seconds of running (13.25 minutes).

VO2 max = (13.25 × 1.444) + 14.99

VO2 max = 34.123 mls/kg/min

Analysis

Analysis of the test result is by comparing it with the athlete's previous results for this test. It is expected that, with appropriate training between each test, the analysis would indicate an improvement in the athlete's VO2 max.

Target Group

This test is suitable for endurance athletes and players of endurance sports (e.g. football, rugby) but not for individuals where the test would be contraindicated.

Reliability

Test reliability refers to the degree to which a test is consistent and stable in measuring what it is intended to measure. Reliability will depend upon how strict the test is conducted and the individual's level of motivation to perform the test.

Validity

Test validity refers to the degree to which the test actually measures what it claims to measure and the extent to which inferences, conclusions, and decisions made on the basis of test scores are appropriate and meaningful. This test provides a means to monitor the effect of training on the athlete's physical development.

In the calculation for 10 people, users can also enter data only 5 people. The rest is emptied.

Tes Fisik SBMPTN: Aplikasi Android untuk Memahami Cara Melakukan Tes Fisik untuk Mahasiswa Baru

Salam pembaca sekalian. Postingan kali ini mengenai salah satu aplikasi android yang sudah dikembangkan oleh hicaltech87 berkaitan dengan tes fisik masuk jurusan pendidikan jasmani dan olahraga bagi calon mahasiswa baru melalui jalur SBMPTN (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri). Aplikasi ini dibuat untuk memudahkan para calon mahasiswa baru yang akan mendaftar pada jurusan pendidikan jasmani olahraga dalam melakukan tes fisik yang merupakan sebuah syarat untuk kelulusan pada jurusan tersebut.

Dalam aplikasi Tes Fisik SBMPTN ini, pengguna bisa melihat tutorial cara melakukan tes fisik yang terdiri dari lempar tangkap bola, loncat tegak (vertical jump), sit up, push up, kelincahan, dan lari 1600 meter. Selain itu, dilengkapi juga halaman menu untuk mengkalkulasi hasil tes fisik secara keseluruhan. Dengan aplikasi ini, maka para pengguna bisa melaksanakan tes fisik dengan sebaik mungkin. 

Aplikasi ini tersedia secara gratis di google play store. Untuk memperjelas mengenai aplikasi Tes Fisik SBMPTN ini, bisa dilihat screenshot konten aplikasinya.

Dilengkapi juga fitur simpan data di database lokal yang terdapat pada aplikasi. Untuk membagikan hasil tes fisik, pengguna bisa membagikan hasil tes melalui tombol share yang bertanda panah ke atas.

Balke Vo2Max Test Android App by Hicaltech87

Procedure for Conducting Balke Vo2max Test

Objective

The objective of the Balke VO2 max Test (Balke 1963)[1] is to monitor the development of the athlete's VO2 max.

Required Resources

To undertake this test you will require:

1. 400m track

2. Stopwatch

3. Whistle

4. Assistant

How to conduct the test

This test requires the athlete to run as far as possible in 15 minutes

1. The athlete warms up for 10 minutes

2. The assistant gives the command "GO", starts the stopwatch and the athlete commences the test

3. The assistant:

- keeps the athlete informed of the time at the end of each 400m lap

- blows the whistle after 15 minutes

- records the total distance achieved in 15 minutes to the nearest 10 metres

Assessment

Based on the distance achieved in the test Horwill (1992)[2] uses the following equation to calculate the athlete's VO2 max:

(((Total distance covered ÷ 15) - 133) × 0.172) + 33.3

Analysis

Analysis of the test result is by comparing it with the athlete's previous results for this test. It is expected that, with appropriate training between each test, the analysis would indicate an improvement in the athlete's VO2 max.

Target Group

This test is suitable for endurance athletes and players of endurance sports (e.g. football, rugby) but not for individuals where the test would be contraindicated.
